G. Keith Williams

Bishop-Elect G. Keith Williams joined Lilly’s Chapel [Greater] in 1985 at the young age of 21. Many thought Keith was simply following his wife in his decision to join. Instead, we now see that Keith was stepping onto the path God had ordained for his life. Bishop-Elect became an active member in the church, serving in any capacity needed. He didn’t only perform the duties that afforded him a spotlight or a platform; he specialized in doing the work behind the scenes, where there was no glory. He spent years working faithfully, each year dedicating more and more of himself to God, despite his many heartbreaking trials and open persecutions.

Brother Keith endured, following the path of brother, to trustee, to deacon, to Sabbath School Teacher, to being ordained elder in 2008. Over the years, he has experienced the refining power of God’s word both as a preacher, a teacher, and a hearer.

God spoke to Senior Overseer Imes regarding her successor and the Bishopric call on his life. Though it was spoken, Elder Williams, in his humility and in Overseer’s wisdom, is allowing God to be God and lead him to His appointed season. In the meantime, Elder Williams leads with the heart of a servant, the humility of a follower, but with the power to command the backing of a Heavenly host.

God has anointed him to teach, preach, admonish, and bind up the broken-hearted. He has been graced through the mentorship of Senior Overseer Imes with a love for the Body of Christ and a great passion for the Faith. God has placed the church, and the Body of Christ as a whole, in his heart that Greater Lilly’s Chapel might have a future! Not just a future but a future leader who contends for the Faith, loves the people, and loves God above all else.
