Barbara M. Imes

Overseer, Teacher, Preacher, Prophetess, and Warrior are just a few names to describe this woman of God. Senior Overseer Barbara Imes has served God’s people for more than 53 years in ministry, preaching, teaching, laying hands, and standing in faith when precious souls faced hard times. Her early spiritual training was under the leadership of Bishop J. G. Simenton and later under Overseer H. E. Moore.

A prophetic vision given to the late Bishop J.G. Simonton became a defining moment in the life of Sister Barbara Imes. His words, “We’re going over the mountaintop, and somebody will receive the Holy Ghost,” came to pass that Sunday night, marking a powerful spiritual turning point. God did a great work that night! Not only was she baptized with the Holy Ghost, but the gifts of healing, discerning of spirits, prophesying, and laying on of hands to cast out evil spirits were evident. God truly blessed His servant that night with gifts that would be used to tear down Satan’s Kingdom.

God has graced her with the gift to encourage and strengthen, the authority to admonish and reprove, and the compassion to love people right where they are. Most of all, God has graced her with the gift of effective leadership.

She is the pastor and Senior Overseer of Greater Lilly’s Chapel in Statesville, NC, and Greater Lilly’s Chapel #2 in Catawba, NC. Her greatest desire is to present God her life submitted and obedient to Him, firstly, and then to present Him a Holy Church.
