Overseer Mother Henrietta E. Moore
January 20, 1913 — November 2004
Overseer Mother Henrietta E. Moore was a woman chosen by God, shaped through prayer, obedience, and an unwavering love for holiness and truth. Born on January 20, 1913, during what many called the “Year of Jubilee,” her life became a living testimony of spiritual freedom, restoration, and deliverance for countless souls. From childhood, she learned to trust God deeply, seeking Him in secret prayer and developing a personal relationship that would guide her throughout every season of life.
Alongside her husband, Rufus Moore, with whom she shared 71 faithful years of marriage, Overseer Moore devoted herself wholeheartedly to the service of God. Drawn by the power and presence of the Holy Spirit, she embraced the teachings of holiness, the keeping of God’s commandments, and complete surrender to the will of God. Under the spiritual leadership of Bishop J. G. Simenton, she was molded into a fearless spiritual warrior, known for her firm teaching, strong convictions, and uncompromising obedience to the Word of God. Many who sat under her ministry remember her preaching as yoke-breaking, soul-stirring, and filled with the power of God.
In 1975, led by divine calling and sustained by faith, Overseer Moore founded what would become Lilly’s Chapel Commandment Keepers Church. Beginning in a humble three-room home on Seventh Street in Statesville, North Carolina, she gathered people together to hear, learn, and obey the Word of God. Through fasting, prayer, sacrifice, and steadfast determination, God blessed the small mission and caused it to flourish into a ministry that would impact generations. Overseer Moore faithfully taught salvation, sanctification, holiness, love, wisdom, and obedience to God without compromise, even while facing criticism, opposition, and spiritual warfare. Yet she never turned back from the assignment God placed upon her life.
Through her ministry, countless souls were strengthened, healed, delivered, and spiritually reborn. God used her to raise up deacons, missionaries, evangelists, pastors, and leaders who would continue the work of the Kingdom. More than a pastor or overseer, she was a true spiritual mother whose life reflected humility, faithfulness, courage, and unwavering devotion to God and His people. Even in her final days, her desire remained the same: to prepare a holy people for the Lord. Overseer Mother Henrietta E. Moore peacefully entered her rest in November 2004 at the age of 91, leaving behind a legacy of holiness, faith, and enduring love that continues to live on through the people she taught, nurtured, and led to God.
